Ed's legs (well, feet)

So since Jan I've kept the kids and I busy with various hospital appointments. Edward had a dry skin rash on.his arm that wouldn't go and some bumps on his feet. We knew the local gp.would need to refer us so we decided to try.and get specialist appointments straight away. This worked....except the appointments all were downtown so a bit of a headache to get to and fit in.
The rash was sorted in two weeks of cream, two appointments and a phone call. Our kids are prone to.dry irritated skin and always will.be it seems.
For his feet though it was a bit more. The dr didn't find any of the physical bumps we'd noticed but did find that he had a shortened Achilles tendon from walking on.tip.toes instead of walking properly. So.this week.we started a course of kinetotherapy (aka physio) where Edward does various exercises (disguised as play) to help."learn to.walk again" and increase flexibility. He did well.at the first session, second session tomorrow so.hopefully he'll have a good one again.
The girls are nice and room well.equipped so I'm hoping it will make a difference.

Leila had to choose a picture to send in to school showing something she enjoyed and was happy about. She chose to have a picture of her being tickled by daddy!!!

Farm

We got to the farm today - our first visit since the autumn (even though we have an annual pass we kinda chickened out of going when.it was cold!)
The kids LOVED it! Both were so.happy to feed the animals and just loved playing there. The weather was sunny and so it was a really lovely morning so I can't wait for another chance to get back there.

It's snowing again.

Scott eats the sweets the kids gave him for Valentine's day. Leila "but I wanted them!"

We've had a couple horrific nights of coughing from them both. The irony being that they are asleep whilst coughing yet we're awAke!  Lookslike we might be clear for half term tho.

Edward has had a couple of dr appointment recently which has resulted in two things; he has a shortened Achilles and needs therapy. And I have navigated appointment and driving and parking down town. Follow up sessions start next week.

We had trial karate, gymnastics and swimming and have opted to try swim.lessons for the next few months. It's expensive but local and although I think both kids are wary I think they'll get in to it

Here again!

The snow is here again!
Yesterday Leila said she wished the snow wouldn't melt and overnight we had some snowfall and then.flurries all.day. So I pointed out to her that her wish came true!
She probably didn't wish to walk home in it (it wasn't snowing when we left school so I thought it would be ok and it'd be good to.leave the car for Scott). The kids were great for the walk; Ed was happy in.sledge. dragging his hand along behind him, and Leila walked the whole way no complaints!

Special Delivery!

Scott had been waiting since November for a few packages from the states to arrive here. One turned up last week (note in the door from the PO which we then collected whilst Ed asleep in the car!) And then finally the second note arrived! I went to collect it the next afternoon but then realised I didn't read it properly.....the package was actually at the import PO the other side of town!!!
So on Monday we started our adventure! Last time the adventure was a metro-based adventure, but this time it was a driving and sat-nav based one!
Driving was fine on the large city roads. We had one slight error when.finding the right part of the road, but once we did then I recognised the street and easily found parking.
The way back I hoped Ed would sleep but we had a little tired incident. Poor Ed has used the potty a few times this weekend and then.suddenly realised he needed a poo whilst we were driving. Poor boy got so upset at doing a poo in his nappy in.the car so I had to try and find somewhere to stop (and buy new nappies!)
Still. We got the package and a bit of an adventure.

Busy times

So after our slow start to the year this last week has been really busy.
Two dr appt for Ed (patch of sore skin on.arm = cream, concerns about lumps on top.of his feet/tip.toes = slightly shortened Achilles = physio).
A karate trial.lesson for L (she concentrated well and seemed to enjoy it. But we're going to try a gymnastics lesson on Saturday and maybe modern dance lesson as these are more 'her thing')
Two parent evenings for Scotty
I've managed three runs (wk2 indierunnet 0-10km) the first and third were.okbut second run.was

Ed struggled Tue and Wed at drop-off but then had a fine drop.off on Thursday (he did the extra day as it was a bday party) but rubbish again on Fri..having said that though miss raina says he's had a fabulous week which makes us very proud.

And we're in revolution city once more if seems!
