Bus to Herastrau Park

Yesterday we investigated the 301 bus that runs from the Jolie Ville about a 12 minute walk away. The ticket system is like Oyster, with a single charge irrespective of distance.  The great thing about the bus is we can take the buggy, whereas it wouldn't fit in the boot of a taxi.  We realise we may need to collapse it if the bus is busy, but haven't needed to so far.

Today we travelled a bit further than yesterday and went to the glorious Herastrau Park. The bus stops on a bridge over the huge lake, so we got off and walked around the lake before heading to a playground.  It was here that Leila finally rode a camel which, as we wrote about a few months ago, was a bit of a scary prospect in Cairo. The one today was, however, made if pink plastic and mounted in a roundabout.  She still loved it though!

We planned to take the bus home from another bus stop, but struggled to find it.  However, a man at the road crossing saw that we were a bit lost and pointed us in the right direction.  From there it was as easy as, well, taking a bus.
