Last Nanny Day

So today we said Good-Bye to Nanny, but a few hours later were able to say Hello (and a big trumpie or two) to Dad!

In the morning, Nanny and I took Edward to the Zoo with Ava and Laura.  E had a lot of fun making animal noises - his favourite were the tigers and lions, but he also enjoyed the monkeys and fish.  The snakes were pretty inert, as were the crocs which was a shame.  He and Ava were very cute walking around holding hands :-)

Nanny walked down to school for 2.30pm as this week is World Book Week and they had invited parents in to read to the class.  Nanny read Elmer to the class and Leila was very well behaved as well as being very excited!

After school we all drove together to the airport to say Good Bye to Nanny.  We managed to find the short-term parking car park, get a token (and later even managed to work out how to pay and leave!) and then went in.  Leila was good at carrying Nanny's bag - even after whalloping herself on a car wing mirror!  We sat together for a drink whilst the queue for security went down and then saw Nanny off.  Poor Leila was a bit upset at not being able to 'share' Nanny's ticket, but we got over it and then went off to discover that there is actually a soft play area in the restaurant overlooking part of the terminal.

With hindsight what I should have done was stay here for two hours and eat tea whilst we waited for Scott's flight, but instead we went home and Leila refused to eat any tea!  Edward was content to play with the sprayer until Dad came home :-)
