These last two weeks both Leila and then Edward have been suffering with nasty colds :-(
It started with Leila doing a few coughs during the day, but then these were getting more frequent and she was coughjng at night too. Thennit was the sneezing, sniffles and feeling poorly. This is the firsg time she has been properly poorly we now realise. Poor thing was hot then cold, happy then sad. She just wanted cuddles and to feel better! She was happyto take capol and we managed tl get some Nurofen down her too, but the most effective medicine it seems was watching The Snowman and the Snowdog! We felt this was the right tkme to relent on our TV ban. It almost backfired when we had multiple requests each day (I think four times jn one day was the maximum she actually watchdd it), but now she is feeling better the requests have reduced. The coughing and feeling rubbish led to multiple nighttime wakes once again and poor naps. The way she would cry out and just want a hug or water was so sad. She slept better with naps thelast few days and nights too now it seems.
It took a few days but Edward caught it too and had a few days of snuffles before thd horrible cough kickdd in. He only had one night of fever luckily, but the snuffles and cough have been harder to deal with. His cough has been pretty nasty and he mised his jabs becaussof it. The best medicine for Edward has been cuddles too and hehas ben
En waking lots in the niht and only wanting to nap whilst being cuddles on my shoulder (when previously k could put him down awake even).
The toughest hing about the two of them bein poorly at he same time has ben trying to give them both the extra cuddles that they want. It's tough enough splitting mysekf two ways, but when they each want more than usual its even tough. At night scott has been looking after Leila again (even though he is suffering from the same cold and huge sleep deprivation himsef!) Leaving me to see to Edward.
We had to miss the baptism of Anastasia that we had been invited to on Saturday, bjt there was no way theh would have got througn it without becoming more sicm6or suler gringy. We just now hope that they continue tl recover so that we can enky hakf term together and then travel safely to the uk at the end kf ghe week.
