| Leila's attempt at packing |
 |
| Oh! |
Leil's flying expereince this holiday was definitly aided by her new snowman toy that Granny bought for her. Leila loved having the window seat on the plane from Bucharest and was very good about wearing her seatbelt (something that she did not replicate on any of her car journies). We were very lucky to have Granny with us on the flight out as it meant we had a row of three to ourselves (the flight was packed!) and an extra pair of hands for nappy changes (of which Leila requested three! She never requests a nappy change!) and eating (toddler plus baby, plus fold-up tray table is not an easy meal time!). All the eating and nappy changing meant that the three-hour flight went by pretty easily and we were soon coming over north London and in to land.

There aren't any photographs to illustrate the challenges that were our three long car journies. Needless to say these two don't travel well in cars! It's understandable as they are not used to it, but I know it made for some tough driving for Granny and Gramps. Edward was able to get himself to sleep in the car, but only after crying for about 30-minutes each time (and then napping for only 30-mins). Leila fussed about constantly in her car seat and didn't nap at all on any long journey (but did do a sneaky nap on a 10-minute ride across Bristol!). The highlight (not) of our journey to Bristol was stopping at a service station to feed/change and then Leila getting wedged into an Ikea high chair - she brused her shins, poor thing, but at least it should put her off climbing into Edward's one when we get home.
I didn't quite earn my 'packing' badge this trip as although I filled our three cases, they were all a little shy of the 23kg mark. I did manage to pack six boxes of shreddies, about a hundred weetabix, two boxes of bran flakes and a million pieces of Tomy train track!!!

| More luggage than people |
I was flying solo with the kids on the way back and the flight was no where near as bad as it could have been. I was very lucky in fact, as the flight wasn't full at all and so we had a row to ourselves again. We were also blessed by having a very understanding lady sitting behind us, who spoke nicely to Leila and invited her onto her row to read a few stories (Leila loved this of course!). We even managed to eat without causing too much mess, despite my meal being coucous and Leila insisting on buttering her own bread roll!
