We returned to the doc today as L was still off her food and complaining more about her ear. The new dr was able to examine her a diagnose mild onset tonsillitis. Antibiotics and ibrufen four and three times a day. Joy.
As we tried to convince her to take the first dose she came out with the line "me better. Me not poorly. Me no want medicine"
We finally figured out a way to get it in her. Antibiotics are 'cuddle medicine' and she has an episode of Peppa and a cuddle while she drinks her 5ml. For the ibrufen we do a 5,4,3,2,1 countfown and she drinks it in 1ml sips.
She managed 2hr (with cry outs) for her nap and woke in a much better mood (meds or that we moved her into a cot again?). We've bought various treats and easy foods so hopefully they will help her feel better.
Why do just one major life event at a time? After six years in Cairo, we moved to Bucharest in summer 2014 with our toddler in tow to take up a new job. Oh, and we were expecting our second child to arrive any minute! The name for the blog is unashamedly lifted from the collection of short stories called "Never Mind The Balkans, Here's Romania" by Mike Orsmby.
