Santa Claus Kingdom....again!

We found ourselves back at Santa Claus Kingdom this morning (we wanted to get out of the house as Oana was cleaning!) - Leila was so excited to know we were going again and kept saying that she would give the Santa a great, big hug!

Leila was totally in her element once again the moment we arrived (and we weren't the first customers this time!) and couldn't wait to get on the trampolines and the tubes again.  Edward seemed a little more relaxed, but after an initial tube run this soon faded and he was clingy again for the whole time.

The only thing Edward would go on was the carousel and the Santa train. So he ended up going on it nearly a dozen times - and Grandpa didn't complain about joining him!

All the fun of the fair!

Santa Train!

Just one more ride please!

Edward and Grandpa

Our visit was very nearly cut short though because in all her running around and being excited of course Leila had abandoned her shoes so that she could quickly go from one trampoline to another....and as luck would have it, she got a splinter in her big toe. Ouchy! We sat her down to take a look and saw that it wa a fine splinter, but a longish one. This was her first splinter so we described it in terms she would understand...."Do you remember Mog had a thorn in her paw? It was very ouchy but when the vet took it out it was ok". Daddy tried to get it out but she kept wriggling (and she's a bit bigger than when we held her down for jabs as a baby) so I ended up finding the First Aider on site and they took us to the medical room to have a go. He got a needle out ready to get it out but when he saw it he said he could pull it out instead. With both Scotty and I holding Leila still(ish) he was able to get it out and all was better. We then came true on our promises of rewards and she had a cake (banana cake made that morning with green icing and sprinkles) and a hot chocolate. Yum indeed. Despite this sugary goodness she was still feeling sorry for herself. Seeing Dad take Edward onto the carousel though soon changed that as she ran across the canteen to have a go herself. Crisis averted.
